The film “Backpack Full of Cash,” narrated by Matt Damon, comes to Leon High School auditorium on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 6:30 p.m.

This feature-length documentary was directed and produced by Sarah Mondale and Vera Aronow. It explores the increasing privatization of today’s public schools.

According to Bronx Educators United for Justice, “This powerful film will help to put a human face on charter schools, vouchers, and high-stakes testing, highlighting the devastating consequences of these policies.

“By engaging in this experience, we hope to stimulate a constructive conversation about what is happening in our public schools.”

Admission is free and any interested persons may attend.

This film is being hosted by Common Ground; a group of Florida education advocacy programs working towards high-quality education access for children across America.

“A beautiful film- tremendously moving!” Children’s advocate Jonathan Kozol said, “…Everyone who values democratic education deserves to see this.”
