On Jan. 20, Leon held the 2018 Sadie Hawkins dance at the Capital City Country Club and the event netted a significant profit.

Student government committee member Avery Howard estimated 250 tickets sold prior to the dance and another 100 per sold at the door for a profit of $8,750. However, the fee for renting out the country club 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. was $4,000. Additional expenses went toward a DJ and decorations.

“I think the dance was a huge success,” Howard said. “We made a profit which is always good and it was a lot more than we expected.”

Junior Madison Coombs and freshman Christian Alvez won overall Sadie Hawkins court.
