Leon’s Dance Marathon is hosting a “Penny Wars” for one week, Feb. 12-16, in order to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network.

Each math teacher is given a donation box for the students to put their money in. Dollar bills are positive points and coins are negative.

Whichever teacher raises the most amount of money will be rewarded with a donut party for all classes.

“This competition is to encourage students to donate to Leon’s Dance Marathon,” said fundraising committee head Jessie Botel.

Leon raised $22,301 last year, and hopes to exceed that amount this year.

The marathon will be held on Feb. 24 from 5 p.m.- 11 p.m. in the Leon gym.
