On Wed. May 23, the newest members of chorus groups Melodears (Melos), Madrigals (Mads) and Capital Singers (Caps) were inducted.
The inductions included current members of the groups dressing the new inductees up in crazy outfits, giving them goodies and bringing them down to the lobby, sitting them down by the lion and singing around them.
About 20 people were inducted consisting of sophomores, juniors and seniors.
“It’s such a fun tradition that I am glad I got to be included in,” Sophomore Tyler Jones said.
To get into these groups there is an audition that includes matching pitches, singing a song and seeing how big our range is.
“I was a little nervous for the audition,” sophomore Joanna Zein-Eldin said. “But I was confident that if I didn’t get into Melos or Mads I would get into Caps because to be in Melos or Mads you have to be in Caps.
Melos will consist of all girls while Mads and Caps will consist of boys and girls.
