This year students will have the opportunity to participate in the annual French Grand Concours.
The test will be in March and will be offered to all those currently studying French. It is a national test, so all students will be competing with students from all around the country.
There are prizes given to those who score in the top 50 percent. The prizes given out are a certificate for 50 percent. Those in the top 10 percent receive medals and are considered Lauréats Nationaux (National Winners).
The Grand Concours are on the list of approved tests by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
French teacher Madam Henault said, “This test will only affect the students in a good way. Even if you don’t get in the top 50 percent you still can put it on your college application that you took an extracurricular test.”
