At Leon, many students walk to and from home as their only means of commuting. In the past few weeks, there have been multiple car accidents, leading to students being at an increased risk of danger.

One accident occurred on Jan. 30. Many students were walking home and a Chevy was speeding down by Trinity Catholic and it rear-ended a Honda leading to the front of the Chevy being crushed. Some of the debris from the car almost hit the some of the students walking.

“This is why I don’t drive,” said sophomore Duke Guarda, who witnessed the accident. “People like this who speed by school zones hitting people is a major safety hazard.”

This is not the first time this has happened. There has been crashes by the junior and senior bowl and more by Trinity.
